My Free Hanging Shelf

I was trying to figure out a way to display my yarn.  I of course considered shelves, which is simple enough, but boring. The other thing was that I had shelves but no brackets.
Then the idea came to me to crochet a cord out of satin rope and hang the shelf from the ceiling.
What's also nice is that the crocheted cord is easy to attach flowers and other things to it.

Hail Mary, Mary the Magdalene

I for one, will never believe that Mary the Magdalene was just some pathetic prostitute following Christ and his disciples around.
I christened my collection of Crocheted Art "HAIL MARY" because I truly believe in Christ and I believe that Mary was, maybe not his wife, but at least his counterpart.
I feel like her being portrayed as a prostitute was nothing more than the biblical translators and rulers in those days doing in order to have a male dominated society and to down play the beauty, wisdom and power of women.
Mary of Magdala is my one of my favorite female characters in the entire bible, second only to The Queen of Sheba.
On a side note my choice of music for this blog, "Hail Mary" by Tu Pac is pretty self explanatory as far as the title.
I will add however, I can't stand todays rap music, never listen to it. Yet,  as crazy as Tu Pac seemed to be, that was only his façade  as an entertainer, in real life Tu-pac was a very enlightened young man and had a deep love for his people and a lot of concern for and understanding for the black community.
His song "Dear Mamma" gave a lot of comfort to young people who shared the struggle of having a mother who was an addict or not the greatest mom. "Dear Mamma" also brought tears of comfort to the eyes of every mother who may have come up short raising her child, when her child sang this song to her.
I used to have his song "Keep ya Head up" on repeat back in day when times were hard for me.
Tupac is all good with me.
I just wanted to give a little background info on HAIL MARY

The "Pray" Backpack

I was literally homeless when I made this backpack.  I was hiding out behind this building by myself just reading scriptures and crocheting.  Oh, yeah, I was praying the whole time. I just know that I felt so hopeless and burned out on trying to dig myself out of the hole I was in,  I finally just gave up and decided all I could do was PRAY.
I was a little ashamed to share all of this at first, but if nothing else, being homeless taught me to own up to everything that I am, have been, and will become.
I survived being homeless, that is nothing to be ashamed of.
Anyway, I thought no one would get this whole "PRAY" statement.  But much to my surprise everyday that I wear this backpack a lot of people admire it and compliment me on it, especially when they learn that I made it myself.
So,  I posted this up so that now when people ask about it and ask if I can make one for them, I can say sure, just go to my blog.
That is all for now.
When all else fails, just "PRAY"
