Hail Mary, Mary the Magdalene
I for one, will never believe that Mary the Magdalene was just some pathetic prostitute following Christ and his disciples around.
I christened my collection of Crocheted Art "HAIL MARY" because I truly believe in Christ and I believe that Mary was, maybe not his wife, but at least his counterpart.
I feel like her being portrayed as a prostitute was nothing more than the biblical translators and rulers in those days doing in order to have a male dominated society and to down play the beauty, wisdom and power of women.
Mary of Magdala is my one of my favorite female characters in the entire bible, second only to The Queen of Sheba.
On a side note my choice of music for this blog, "Hail Mary" by Tu Pac is pretty self explanatory as far as the title.
I will add however, I can't stand todays rap music, never listen to it. Yet, as crazy as Tu Pac seemed to be, that was only his façade as an entertainer, in real life Tu-pac was a very enlightened young man and had a deep love for his people and a lot of concern for and understanding for the black community.
His song "Dear Mamma" gave a lot of comfort to young people who shared the struggle of having a mother who was an addict or not the greatest mom. "Dear Mamma" also brought tears of comfort to the eyes of every mother who may have come up short raising her child, when her child sang this song to her.
I used to have his song "Keep ya Head up" on repeat back in day when times were hard for me.
Tupac is all good with me.
I just wanted to give a little background info on HAIL MARY
